Telehealth Services

Many believe that online counseling should not replace in-office counseling. Rather, it should complement your
traditional therapy sessions, as online counseling offers a range of benefits to users. Thousands of satisfied customers
are already using online counseling services, boast that level of connection they are able to make with their therapists
online make in-person therapy unnecessary. The telehealth platform allows access to mental health services that might
not otherwise be available due to mental health, and/or my physical, resource, or geographic limitations.

Most common benefits associated with online therapy are:

No Boundaries: With online counseling, there is no longer a need to seek out help within your city limits. You
have the ability to connect with a psychologist that's not in your area. Best of all, should you not click with
your therapist, you have the option to change therapists.
Efficiency:
If you are working full-time, chances are you have very little personal time set aside. With online
while you are on-the-go.
Communication Channels:
Gone are the days of having to set pre-arranged appointments and then receiving
therapy in person. Online counseling enables you to open your therapy app and get help right away. This
includes SMS/chat, video, and phone therapy options.
Eliminated Stigmas:
Oftentimes people do not set therapy appointments due to the stigma surrounding therapy.
In fact, some people who do in fact set appointments won’t show up for their session due to this unfortunate
stigmatization of therapy. With online therapy, that stigma is gone.
Privacy/Confidentiality:
Using online therapy provides users with complete privacy and confidentiality. For
starters, therapists on the platforms are bound by strict local and federal laws, as is the case with their brick and
mortar business. Your therapy sessions are protected by HIPAA. Furthermore, your chat sessions are also
secured by various bank-grade encryption levels, which only you and your therapist can access. Lastly, should
you still not feel comfortable with therapy, even online therapy, you have the ability to sign up using an alias and
dummy e-mail account.

Possible Risks:

Although rare, there are potential risks associated with the use of telehealth. These risks include, but may
not be limited to:
1. Information transmitted may not be sufficient (e.g. poor connection) to allow for appropriate clinical
decision making by the Treatment Provider and consultant(s);
2. Delays in evaluation and treatment could occur due to technical deficiencies or failures; and
3. The transmission of client’s clinical information could be interrupted by unauthorized persons; and/or the
electronic storage of my clinical information could be accessed by unauthorized persons.
Technology:
Clients will need to have a broadband internet connection or a smart phone device with a good cellular
connection at home or at the location deemed appropriate for services. Doxy.me is the chosen platform for online therapy
sessions with Counseling Solutions. Doxy.me is a free, HIPAA compliant platform which means your session is safe
and secure. Please visit doxy.me/patients for more information. In case of technology failure, please contact Counseling
Solutions via phone to coordinate alternative methods of treatment at 254-519-1144.

will be billed no sooner than 48 hours from the day of the appointment. Fees may be associated with telehealth services
for cancellations, no shows, and insufficient funds. If the card is declined, Counseling Solutions will cancel the
appointment and the client will be charged in accordance with the cancelation policy. (See chart for fees)

Scheduling:
Scheduling is conducted through Counseling Solutions and is based on my therapist’s availability. Telehealth
appointments are considered outpatient services and not intended as a substitute for emergency or crisis services. Crisis or
mental health emergencies should be directed to the local county crisis line or by dialing 911.
Necessity of In-Person Evaluation:
A variety of alternative methods of clinical care may be available. A client may request alternative methods of care to
telehealth from Treatment Provider. Telehealth-based services and care may not be as complete as face-to-face services.
There are potential risks and benefits associated with any form of treatment, and that despite client efforts and the efforts
of Treatment Provider, a condition may not improve, and in some cases may even get worse. If it becomes clear that the

client for further care.
