PERSONAL BACKGROUND

LeeAnn was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and raised in Houston, Texas with her two siblings. An
avid middle distance runner, LeeAnn ran track at Mississippi State University. After the close of her
running career, LeeAnn transferred to the University of Houston – Downtown, where she obtained her
Bachelors of Science Degree. After graduation, LeeAnn obtained her Texas Teachers Certificate and
become a high school mathematics teacher. While teaching, LeeAnn discovered her love of helping
others.
LeeAnn is dedicated to walking through tough times with others and helping them find the strength
within themselves to persevere and thrive. LeeAnn enjoys helping individuals age 13 and up find their
way through eating disorders, addictions, depression, anxiety and other life struggles.


PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

While pursing her Bachelors Degree, LeeAnn gained education and experience working with eating
disorders. LeeAnn was a volunteer guest speaker on eating disorder education at the Beautiful Me
conference, the University of Houston, St. Thomas University, and to medical students in the Houston
Medical Center. While pursuing her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, LeeAnn interned at a non-
profit private practice, seeing clients from the age of 5-55. As a graduate, LeeAnn became a therapist at
Rock Springs Help for Heros Program. LeeAnn gained experience in crisis intervention while helping
individuals stablize from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and other mental health
struggles. LeeAnn also gained experience working with active duty military, their families, and first
responders.


PERSONAL INTERESTS

LeeAnn enjoys any outdoor activity. She is particularly fond of camping, fishing, and kayaking.
LeeAnn also enjoys playing the cello and spending time with her puppy. LeeAnn is also in the process
of building her own “Tiny House.”

Ms. Ripstra is the Director of ED Intense Outpatient Program at Counseling Solutions.
