PERSONAL BACKGROUND

EricaPetagaye Boucher is known professionally as Peta Boucher. She and her husband are both retired from the United States Army. Peta has served a substantial amount of time in her military career at Fort Hood and served the Central Texas area for many years. In spare time Peta enjoys garden, Outreach, making music, and arts and craft projects with her children.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Peta served as a Platoon Sergeant in the United States Army and is a Retired Army Veteran. Given her time as an investigator with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), she is familiar with the local area and the services available to those within the community. Peta’s experience has assisted her in her ability to maintain a balance of objectivity and empathy for families. Peta is also a traditional healer and has serviced several young mothers in central Texas as their Doula. Peta is receiving her MS in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University where she is a member of Psi Chi International Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Her specialties include Solution Focused Therapy, Bowen’s Theory of Human Behavior, Family Systems, Ancestral Healing, Intergenerational, Trans-Generational Trauma, Ancestral Trauma, and meditation. Her approach to therapy draws from the solution-focused, intergenerational, cognitive behavioral, rational emotive, and mindfulness models. Peta’s approach is eclectic and dependent on your individual needs. She is very tech-savvy, open to tele-mental health, and responds quickly to text or email. Peta’s military expertise and background in protective services allow her to work well with a diverse population and respect cultural diversity among clients.
