PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Ashley was born and raised in Texas, living in small towns such as Cisco and Eastland and larger areas including Abilene and Amarillo before coming to Killeen in 2000. She has four siblings and a total of 23 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and has enjoyed being around and working with children for as long as she can remember.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
During her first year of college, while working toward a degree in Art, Ashley took a psychology class that caused her to reevaluate and ultimately change career paths. She completed her Associate of Arts in Social Sciences with a 4.0 GPA in 2008 before going on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (graduating Magna Cum Laude) in 2010 and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013.
While pursuing her Master’s degree, Ashley work at a mental health hospital, first as a direct care staff. After graduating, she then moved into a clinical assessment position which she still holds part-time. Ashley has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various mental health settings including inpatient and residential hospitalization, chemical dependency intensive outpatient programs, substance use prevention programs in local schools, and outpatient therapy.
